Triangulation: How to Find the Fish Again and AgainGenerally, fish congregate predominantly in several
key areas in a lake, rather than being evenly distributed. They look for
rocks, underwater tree stumps, grass, ledges and other features. Finding
these areas can be key to successful fishing. Once you have located these
pockets of fish, you'll definitely want to be able to come back in the
future. One easy way to find your way back to an exact location, is the
use of triangulation. To do this, simply look first to the east, and find
a stationary object on the shore like a tree or a large rock. Memorize
its postion. Then look to the north, and south doing the same. Next time
you want to find this location, just align yourself in between these 3
points as before. You may want to keep a small notepad in your tackle
box to jot down some notes on the position of the objects. Remeber that
these things may change from time to time and that rocks can slide, trees
can grow, shorelines can erode so bear this in mind.
